Simply add as a Beneficiary and use your Meter Number as Reference when making a payment - Standard Bank to Standard Bank, the payment will reflect within seconds and you’ll be able to SMS for a Token.

Buying prepaid electricity or water is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1. Create a Beneficiary and make a payment

2. SMS to get a Token

SMS the following to 31696:

pin = 4-digit pin code
meternumber = 11-digit number
amount = the monetary value

No need to use the currency symbol or decimals.

3. Enter the Token to your meter

A token is a 20-digit number that is formatted into 5 groups of 4 numbers each:


Enter the token using the meter keypad. The meter will show an increased value for the available kWh.

Tokens are single use and non-transferable and non-refundable.
